Position: Mechanical/Electrical Engineer – Energy Sector

Location: Slovenia, Ljubljana

Schedule: Full-time

Nature of Responsibility: Operational

 

Are you interested in working on projects related to monitoring and performance improvement of energy systems? As an Engineer, you will be responsible for the thermal and economical evaluation of improvements of existing systems such as boilers, gas & steam turbines, cooling towers, heat exchangers, etc. especially the ones with significantly degraded performance due to older design issues and/or poor maintenance. You have to be able to evaluate potential smaller system repairs, refurbishments or upgrades considering changes of degraded plant’s components.

 

Your key tasks will be to:

Perform R&D in performance evaluation of energy systems via empirical modelling Be responsible for evaluations of design upgrades/improvements and optimization of systems considering long-term operation Plan service and maintenance works for customer together with our technical team Take part in performance and monitoring tests Advice on performing troubleshooting and repair of components Drive positive safety culture through your actions and be mentor to less experienced engineers

 

Your qualifications and core competences:

Have an engineering degree Have 2+ years experience in power plant technologies and heat and mass transfer process Skillful in system and component modelling (regression analysis, empirical & block modeling) Skillful in Matlab programming (acceptable also Fortran, C++ and Python) Have good communication skills and a collaborative mindset Enthusiastic and motivated as well as be able to mentor younger, less experienced engineers Are self-motivated and enjoy working both independently and as a member of a team

Good knowledge of English

 

Furthermore, you have specialized in power plant operation, possibly have taken part at performance tests, like to travel and have B driving license.

 

Working hours and place of work

40 hours per week, Monday-Friday, morning shift, place of work Ljubljana.

Salary and contract

Starting at 2400 – 2900 EUR gross per month, full-time work contract for 12 months with possibility of extension.
