EURES

  •

The EURES (EURopean Employment Services) European Network was launched in 1994 to coordinate transnational labor mobility policy in line with the European Union's basic principle of free movement of workers (Article 3 of the Treaty on European Union and Article 45 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union).

The Network promotes cooperation between the European Labor Authority (ELA), the Public Employment Services of the Member States of the European Union (EU), as well as the European Free Trade Area (EFTA), which includes the countries Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein. Switzerland also plays an important role in this cooperation.

The main roles of the EURES network are to provide information, advice and recruitment or placement services, but also to take action to facilitate jobseekers in other European country. In addition, it provides specialized services to employers in order to find suitable candidates for employment. EURES services are offered free of charge.
